The Phoenicians were an ancient Semitic civilization who inhabited what is today, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Israel. They were once under control of the Persians and the Romans, being in many Punic wars. Phoenicians were great merchants, traders, and amazing sailors, many becoming pirates.
